Watch Gavin Turek Go ‘The Distance’ For Love

Whether shimmying in the background as she provides vocal support for Tuxedo or collaborating with edgy producers like TOKiMONSTA, Gavin Turek makes quite an impression. So it's no surprise that her new music video for "The Distance" – the first set of visuals from her latest solo effort Good Look For You – further validates the fact that she was born to stand out.

The song, which is based on a former long distance relationship, finds Gavin longing for her lover to return. "You should be here with me / Giving me what I need," she demurs. "Wish I was your home / Wish you were never gone," she continues before pleading, "Why?" The bedazzled songstress looks every bit the sultry disco diva. She accentuates her melodic coo with Vogue-like poses, mesmerizing dance moves and some good old fashioned shoulder action. She knows how to work it, but there's an inherent joy in her motion that makes it all the more enjoyable to watch.

Good Look For You is Gavin Turek's first release on her newly created Madame Gold label. Pick up your copy of the EP along with a remix project for the title track via iTunes. Peep the visuals for "The Distance" below, then watch as she gives a live performance of "Good Look For You," On the Line" and "The Distance" in a recent session for Paste Magazine. West Coast Bouncers can see her in concert on Thursday, April 27th during The Changing Same event at The Continental Bar. Fans can also catch her in Chicago this summer sharing the stage with Flying Lotus, Thundercat, BJ the Chicago Kid, Sango, Marian Hill and more at Mamby on the Beach.
