Welcome back Luke James!
Hot off his heralded performance as Johnny Gill in BET’s The New Edition Story, the gifted R&B crooner has finally blessed us with long-awaited new music. Premiering his smoldering, soulful new bedroom burner “Drip” at midnight, James has your latest #FreakyFriday playlist addition!
Over old-school styled production including a funky bassline, Luke’s acclaimed vocals glide and glisten, as he promises soul touching erotic bliss to a new lover.
“Feeling on your booty / But I’d rather feel your soul / Girl I know you ain’t Janet / But I like you in Control,” he sings. “Baby deal with your emotion / Dive into the ocean / Everything is open.”
The New Orleans native transports listeners to recall memories of heightened intimate experiences, while using sexual innuendos to leave the imagination intrigued.
In addition to releasing the new single, Luke has shared a sexy lyric video, which finds the camera cropped to focus only on his mouth and upper chest. Aside from more film roles, fans can expect James anticipated sophomore album, Joy, to be released soon.
